Responsibilities:

Under limited supervision, utilizes technical skills to repair, calibrate and maintain chemical production instrumentation to ensure proper functioning of assigned equipment. Must also maintain production systems controlled or regulated by the equipment to ensure mechanical efficiency. Performs work at skilled craftsman level in at least two other areas of plant maintenance. Utilizes special software to track work, repairs, analyze trends in problems, and to maintain records required by the Process Safety Management Standard. Works outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Trains I&E Technician I. Works as part of a team with other maintenance department personnel, operations personnel, and management. Adheres to safety and environmental policies and procedures. Maintains good housekeeping in shop and all areas where work is performed.

Skill Requirements:

Formal training in chemical industrial electric systems, electronis, andinstrumetation. Craftsman level skills in the calibration, repair and maintenance of electronic and electrical systems in a chemical plant. Comprehensive knowledge of other systems in the plant in order to maintain equipment. Knowledge of one or more other areas of maintenance at a level that would expedite certification or licensing. Full understanding of potential safety hazards and their environmental impact. Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements, procedures, and record keeping required by the Process Safety Management standard. The ability to identify potential safety problems and initiate appropriate corrective action. Computer skills to utilize various department software systems.

Education/Experience:

Associate degree or certification with a specialization in chemical and/or electronic technology or equivalent experience in an industrial environment. 2-4 years chemical experience.
